Each year, guided by Council direction, City staff develop an annual budget that outlines where, when, and how funds will be allocated to deliver quality services, support businesses, and achieve strategic priorities. This process involves balancing community needs and requests, maintaining service levels, and addressing key priorities, culminating in the City’s capital and operating budgets for the year.
This action aims to establish a process for reviewing annual budgets to ensure alignment with the City’s climate commitments. It will also identify opportunities to enhance this alignment throughout the budget development process, ensuring that climate goals are integrated into financial planning and decision-making.
