Description
The Procurement Services Section is supports all City departments in the purchasing of materials, supplies, equipment and services to provide the City with the best overall value. This is conducted through a competitive bidding process in accordance with municipal and provincial laws and completed through the issuance of purchase orders and contracts.
One way the City can demonstrate leadership and contribute to market transformation is by prioritizing sustainable, low carbon and climate-resilient options in purchasing decision-making. This action will look to review the City’s purchasing policies for opportunities to encourage zero-carbon and climate-adaptive technologies and practices.
