Official description
Description
This action is part of a larger effort to improve the resilience of urban ecosystems and protect, connect, and restore them. Installed features may include covered picnic facilities, awnings, trees and landscaping. Particular attention should be paid to providing optimal soil volume and growing conditions for trees, shrubs and groundcovers through the use of design elements such as continuous soil trenches, stormwater runoff inlets and water retention facilities, and soil cells.
