Official description
Description
The Sustainable Development Checklist was created to promote sustainable land use and building design through the development approval process. It is intended to help residents, builders, and developers design projects that:
- support the well-being of the community;
- respect the natural environment; and
- use fewer resources and cost less to operate.
This action involves reviewing the current checklist and exploring ways to strengthen its ability to encourage sustainable, climate-resilient, and zero-carbon development in Surrey.
